The difficult bureaucracy of the city's design review process, inspires the salvage of the existing structure. Because of budget reasons, the re-building of the existing structure on a reclaimed wood foundation, salvaged from a dismantled train trestle, was realized.
All hardscape was designed as pervious paving inspired by the site water and drainage issues.
The 1937 cottage was recycled as a guest house to a new 4600 sf residence.
